Obituary of Rita Ann Stefkovic

Rita A. Stefkovic, age 86, of Sterling, VA went to be with the Lord on September 29, 2014 at the home of Paul Graf and Patty Page (daughter) in Chantilly, VA. Beloved wife of late Joseph M. Stefkovic in 1989. She was a strong individual who fought for everything she felt important during her life as well as life itself as she battled lung cancer and lung disease for many years. Rita left this life with dignity and grace to be in heaven with her husband, parents, siblings and dear friends. Rita is survived by her sisters Rose Yzzi of Williamsburg, VA and Theresa Phifer of Sarasota, FL/Newark, DE; her four children Jana Katz of Ontario, Canada; Ava Eckl of Falls Church, VA; Patty Page of Chantilly, VA; and Leonard Stefkovic of Winchester, VA; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandson, her cousins - with special acknowledgement to Edith Basile Beerer, many nephews - with special acknowledgement to Sal Camuso and Dennis Phifer, nieces, and beloved neighbors and friends - with special acknowledgement to Farah Jafari, Jose Sipec, Jennifer & Mike Trihias, and Anita (Honey) Veltman. Rita was born on September 13, 1928 in Norristown, PA to parents Salvatore and Rose Marie Camuso. She married Joseph Stefkovic on August 6, 1965 and resided in Sterling Park, Virginia. A viewing is scheduled at Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon, VA on Thursday, October 2nd from 5 PM - 8 PM. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 750 Peachtree St. Herndon, VA, where she has been a parish member for 49 years, on Friday, October 4 at 1:00 PM. A special Eulogy by her dear friend, Msgr. Mercurio Fragapane, will be presented. A repast/celebration of life will follow at Cantina D'Italia at 150 Elden St., Herndon, VA at 4:00 PM.
