Obituary of Eiler Christian Heyn

Eiler Christian Heyn, age 80, of Great Falls, VA passed away on October 4, 2014. Born to Francis and Vera Heyn on February 21, 1934 in New York, NY. Eiler (or "Chris" as he was better known) was a Captain in the United States Air Force; he served as a liaison to the Royal Air Force at the Sculthorpe military training facility in England where he met his wife. Eiler married Sylvia D. Molloy on November 5, 1955 in Norfolk, England; they were married almost 59 years. Eiler had 11 years of military service with the United States Air Force and 29 years with the Federal Aviation Administration when he retired in 1985. Eiler and Sybil moved many times for his job and finally settled in Great Falls, VA. In his retirement Eiler enjoyed art, painting, reading, exotic cars, baking and keeping in touch with his FAA buddies. Eiler is survived by his beloved wife Sybil; his three sons Clive, Nigel and Tristan and his 4 grandchildren Christian, Alexandra, Elizabeth and Ashley. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Nona C. Heyn in 2013. A memorial service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on April 8, 2015 at 1:00pm.
