On October 14, 2014, Michael Francis Ryder Jr, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer passed away. He is survived by his parents Michael F. Ryder Sr, Janet Antaya Ryder, sisters Kathleen Ryder, Coleen Ryder, son and daughter-in-law Michael Paul and Christine Ryder, and grandchildren Michael Paul Jr, Antony James, and Virginia Lynne. He was preceded in death by his daughter Erin Siobhan Ryder. Michael was born on June 3, 1959 in Springfield Massachusetts. He was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson Senior High School and Virginia Poly-technical Institute and State University. At the time of his death he was employed by The Teaching Company, LLC. Michael was best known for his quick dry wit and love of music, movies, television and cigars. He was an avid reader and big fan of the Baltimore Orioles. There will be a memorial service for Michael on Friday October 17, 2014 at the Adams-Green Funeral Home, 712 Elden Street, Herndon VA 20170. The family will be receiving guest from 6:00 PM- 7:00 PM, with a service to follow beginning at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers please consider making an donation the Centreville Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 157, Centreville VA 20122-0157.
