Obituary of Michael Joseph Habib

Michael J. Habib (Age 72) On October 22, 2014, Michael Joseph Habib, of Alexandria, VA. Beloved husband for 48 years to Godhild Habib. Devoted father of Karen (Jan) Perryman, Eric (Kara) Habib and Kirsten Habib. Loving grandfather to Alexandra, Logan, Matthew and Autumn. Mike is survived by his brothers Gerald and Robert Habib. Born August 21, 1942 in the Bronx, NY to Irving and Bertha Habib. Mike joined the Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer in 1965 and was posted to Austria with his new bride, followed by a tour in Botswana. Mike subsequently enjoyed posts to Germany, The Netherlands, Austria and the UK, retiring in 2001 as a Senior Foreign Service Officer, A Career Minister-Counselor at military 2 Star level. Mike travelled extensively, especially enjoying his trips to Germany (Godi's homeland) visiting relatives and skiing in the Alps with his children. A devoted and attentive family man, Mike was at his happiest surrounded by his grandchildren in the pool at the family home. He was loved and respected by many, and will be missed greatly.
