Obituary of Nancy Linda Higgs

Nancy Linda Carmine Higgs 5/24/32-11/25/14 Nancy Linda Carmine Higgs, 82, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 25th. She was born on May 24, 1932 in Pittsburg, PA, the oldest daughter of Charles and Gertrude Carmine. Even though Nancy was employed in various short-term positions, she felt that her passion was being a homemaker and spending time with her 5 children. She was a member of Guilford Baptist Church and Women's Aglow. Nancy also had a passion for her country and those serving in the military. She was raised in the Army and was an Air Force wife. She was a Pearl Harbor survivor when she was 9 years old. Nancy further served her country by being an election official for many years. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Weldon Higgs, Sr. She was also preceded by a sister and two brothers. Surviving are a daughter, Karen Brito of Stephens City, VA; a son, Weldon Higgs, Jr. of Fredericksburg, VA; a daughter, Linda Burgess of Ashburn, VA; a son Keith Higgs of Ashburn, VA; and, a daughter, Shari Melton of Magnolia, DE; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to woundedwarriorproject.org or JewsforJesus.org. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at Mt. Hope Baptist Church, Dulles, Va on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 1 p.m.
