On December 1, 2014, Joseph Bela Kover of Herndon, VA quietly passed away at a local hospital. Mr. Kover was born in Jaszbereny, Hungary in 1926 to Bela and Margit Kover. Mr. Kover was a graduate of Teacher's College in Jaszbereny, and was a graduate of the Kossuth Military Academy in Budapest, Hungary. Mr Kover attended Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and oversaw the Language School of Translation for a period of time. Mr. Kover also attended American University in Washington, DC.
In 2006, Mr. Kover received a Knighthood from the "56-os Vitezi Lovagrend Vilagszovetseg" in Budapest. The Organization was formed to honor members for heroic deeds performed to assist the Hungarian cause after the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. The Organization has no affiliation with the Hungarian Military.
Mr. Kover was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Herndon. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Betty G. Kover of Herndon, VA. Friends may call at ADAMS-GREEN FUNERAL HOME, 721 Elden St. Herndon, VA, on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 from 6-8 PM with a Rosary at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 750 Peachtree St., Herndon, VA on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon, VA.
