My dear Bridget, I can only hope that today's service made it clear how many lives you've touched. I am at a loss knowing that I can no longer pick up the phone and hear your voice at the other end or be greeted with a big smile and a "Hi Carolina" when I come to the office. You will be missed greatly.

A trip to IKEA was always an all day affair. Bridget loved everything about the store and delighted in the bargains to be had, and the decorating ideas that she could tweek to make them her own. We always had to look at everything in every department - really. She was always excited to see "what's new." After our first walk through, we would take a break and have an IKEA lunch -- she would have a cup of coffee, french fries, maybe a chicken finger or two, or a salad and perhaps a second cup of coffee. We would chat about what she wanted to take a second or third look at, before making another round of the store. She would ask what I thought of how she planned to use the items she had her eye on and discuss the pros and cons. Even when we pulled up to check-out at the end of the day, she would make yet another earnest "yes/no" decision on every item. After getting home, she would call to say whether her purchases were "just perfect," or whether items were already sitting at her door to be returned.
After seeing her latest purchases in her new apartment, I let her know how much I thought her choices were "so Bridget" and that she should not change a thing. But, of course, she did -- and back to IKEA we would go. But it was ALWAYS a good day, an indulgence that never had negative repercussions. An opportunity to catch up on what was going on in each other's life. She was one of the nicest, kindest people I have ever known.
I will miss my dear friend and regret that we never got to go to New York City and take the Jitney to the Hamptons. It was on her bucket list.

Dear family, you have my deepest sympathy. We see how death is truly our enemy and we look forward to the time where the promise of no more tears crying our pain comes true. May our Heavenly Father give you the comfort and strength you need to get through this. Revelation 21:3, 4
