Obituary of Mack Robinson Farr
Please share a memory of Mack to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Wednesday December 10th, 2014 Mack Farr of Herndon, Virginia passed peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Nancy Farr for 55 years; devoted father of daughter Shelley Marshall, and sons Mark and Robert. Doting grandfather to eight grandchildren: Drake, Chandler, Walker, Jenna, Colton, Braedon, Grayson and Nolan. He is also survived by his brother, Alvin L. Farr, son in law Donn Erik Marshall, daughters in law Angel and Erica Farr; and nephews Larry and Michael Farr. Mack valued time with his family, taking long walks, spending time in the yard, fly fishing and occasional afternoons spent at the race track. Anyone who was blessed enough to know him, admired his kind and humble way. Professionally, his bright mind and strong work ethic lead to several mentions in the Congressional Record. Mack demonstrated himself to be a leader in the development and application of sophisticated night vision imaging systems for military use over a commercial and federal career that spanned 37 years. Mack was the Technical Director for the Army Project Management office for Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition. In recognition of his many achievements, he was inducted into the Association of Night Vision Manufacturers Image Intensification Hall of Fame. Mack was the first government recipient to receive this honor. Friends and family wishing to pay their respects are invited to the viewing at Adams-Green Funeral Home at 721 Elden Street in Herndon on Sunday, December 14 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 15 at 1:00pm at Providence Baptist Church at 8980 Brook Road in McLean.
