El economista Roberto Incer Barquero expresidente del Banco Central de Nicaragua fallecio en Washington, D.C. la mañana de este sábado Diciembre 27, 2014 por dolecias propia de la edad. Se graduó de abogado en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua y de Economia en la Universidad de Yale. Despues hizo una maestria en London School of Economics y Political Science, El expresidente del banco se desempeño como funcionario del Gobierno de Anastasio Somoza Debayle siendo Secretario de la Comision Nacional del Algodón, Secretario de la Presidencia y Presidente del Banco Central de Nicaragua. Finalmente trabajo como Gobernador del IMF/ Banco Mundial. Durante estos anos recibió varias condecoraciones de diferentes gobiernos incluyen Portugal, Alemania, Nicaragua y Taiwan. El organizo el programa de becas del Banco Central del cual logro graduar a mas de 800 profesionales en las mejores universidades de los Estados Unidos. La Biblioteca del Banco Central de Nicaragua lleva su nombre. Contribuyo al progreso del país en diferentes actividades económicas, cultura, y comerciales. En los anos 80 empezo a trabajar con el Banco Mundial y después con el IMF adonde se retiro en 1996, después trabajo como consultor en diferentes países y organizaciones. Residio en el área de Northern Virginia por 35 anos adonde sus hijos Roberto Jose y Alvaro crecieron , estudiaron y trabajan. Roberto Incer Barquero estaba casado con Marisa Pereira y tuvieron dos hijos Roberto Jose, casado con Martha Lacayo Santamaria, e Alvaro Incer Pereira, dos nietas Marissa y Amanda. The economist, Roberto Incer Barquero, former president of the Central Bank of Nicaragua, passed away on the morning of Saturday December 27, 2014, due to complications consistent with his longevity. He graduated from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua in Leon as well as Yale University. He proceeded to attend and graduate The London School of Economics and Political Science. The former president also served his beloved country during the government of Anastasio Somoza Debayle in the roles of Secretary of La Comision Nacional del Algodón, Secretary to the President, and President to the Central Bank. Upon arriving in the United States he studied at Harvard University before embarking on a career working for the IMF and World Bank with projects in Brazil and the Dominican Republic. During his years he received awards as recognition for services to the countries of Portugal, Germany, Nicaragua, and Taiwan. Mr. Incer Barquero valued education above all and organized a program to finance and offer scholarships from the Central Bank resulting in the graduation of more than 800 professionals from Nicaragua to attend some of the best universities in the United States. Due to his value of education he was honored when the library of the Central Bank was named Biblioteca Roberto Incer Barquero. This library would continue to provide motivated scholars with the tools to continue their education. Through these endevours he contributed and promoted economic, cultural, and comercial activities in Nicaragua. In the 1980's, he worked for the World Bank and then continued his career at the IMF until his retirement in 1996. He continued to contribute as a consultant to several countries and organizations. He resided in Northern Virginia for 35 years where his sons were raised, studied, and continue to live. Roberto Incer Barquero was married to Marisa Pereira and had two sons, Roberto Jose, married to Martha Lacayo Santamaria, and Alvaro Incer Pereira. He is also survided by two grand-daughters Marissa and Amanda.
