Obituary of Constance Marie Morrissey

Constance Morrissey (80) December 28, 1934 - January 17, 2015 Of Potomac Falls, VA, Connie passed away peacefully on January 17, 2015. She was a long-time resident of Reston, VA (1969-2004). Beloved wife of the late James A. Morrissey for 51 years. Loving mother of sons James Jr., Patrick, Michael and daughter Erin Ingrisano. Sister of Carl J. Winski, Jr. Connie was born in Johnstown, PA, in 1934. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Sophia Winski. Graduate of Carlow University (formerly Mount Mercy College). Moved to Washington, D.C. area in 1957 to work at the National Institutes of Health. After raising children, Connie worked as a substitute teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools for many years, primarily at Herndon Middle School. Connie was a founding member of St. Thomas a Becket Catholic Church in Reston. She was a tireless volunteer - including working at Bargain Loft - member of F.I.S.H for 20 years - and food preparation for Christ House for many years. She was an active member of St. Thomas a Becket Catholic Church, including serving as a money counter, member of the funeral committee and member of the Magnificot Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. She is survived by her children and 10 grandchildren. Funeral mass to be held at St. Thomas a Becket Catholic Church, 1421 Wiehle Avenue, Reston, VA, on Friday, January 23, at 10:30 a.m. Family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
