Gerald and I were missionary companions for three months in Plymouth England. I just recently found out that he had passed away. Our time together was a period of tremendous growth for me. Elder Bowen was dedicated to the Gospel of Christ, and a courageous and creative sharer of the message. I have many fond memories of our time together. I look forward to seeing him again some day on the other side of the veil. Bruce Degler

Gerald was a very compassionate man who I admired and loved as a brother. Many people could not understand Jerry, but I did. I miss you my brother and I know that you were slowly murdered by those in high places that had means to kill you in a surreptitious manner and it was all because of money and power. Those judges and lawyers who destroyed your life will answer for their crimes one day.
I miss you very much. I miss talking with you and I miss how you comforted me with my problems. I wish I could have done more for you and you are in my thoughts more than not. I love your family, your children and I will never ever forget you.

I am so deeply saddened to hear this news. Jerry was of the most intelligent, loving, honest human beings I have ever met. He had not received justice in this world, but he will in the next. God bless you Gerald Bowen, you are an amazing human being and you will always be in our hearts.

I have such loving and sweet memories of my friend Jerry. I met him and Ralph Pacheco, when they were new converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. They introduced me to Donna McLean who became my best friend. Jerry would just come by and get me sometimes and we would go out and meet others where we would all find something fun to do. One time he came and got me to go swimming in Lake Barcroft. It was the middle of summer and very hot. He turned the heater on in the Volkswagon bug and told me we would enjoy swimming more if we were really hot. We met a bunch of friends there and had a great time. Another time I met him and a group
of friends and waded in the lake at 4:00 in the morning. Sometimes we would just hang out while he played his guitar and sang songs. KathyTull and I were roommates at college and became good friends. I was a bridesmaid at their wedding. I still think of Jerry as one of the dearest friends of my life. I had always hoped to see him again and talk over old times. I was so sadden to hear of his passing. Thanks to my Savior, Jesus Christ, I know I will see him again. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

"Life has been good, but it has been better because of Jerry Bowen. We have so many great memories from our high school years together. I think of the first time we met and how time and circumstance brought us closer together. We shared the happiest days of high school together, laughing, loving, and crying. For two years we were together almost every single day!"
We were married in 1973 and lived a wonderful life together! So blessed to have had him as my husband and father of our four children.

Recently, I created biography books for my parents, so now, I am planning the same for Jerry. It's all about turning the hearts of the children to their fathers.
