Please share a memory of Pamela to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
PAMELA (PAM) ELAINE TEMPLE was born in York, PA on the 21st of September, 1945 to a teen-age Mother and a young adult Father who was serving with the Navy "Seabees," in the Pacific. While her Father was away she and her Mother lived in Stewartstown, PA. After the war the family moved to Glen Burnie, MD. It was there that she grew up and received her education.  Shortly after graduation from High School she took employment with the Department of the Army at nearby Fort Meade. While there she met her future husband, George, and worked at 1st Army Headquarters, the Army Recruiting Command, and the Army's Club Management Agency. From Fort Meade, her career took her to Washington, D.C. to the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service and then to Walter Reed Army Medical Center. She returned to Maryland with an assignment at the newly formed DOD Uniformed University of the Health Sciences located at the Bethesda Naval Base. Later, she transferred to the nearby National Institutes of Health campus and the National Cancer Institute. Here she ended her career of nearly 38 years of continuous Federal Civil Service, in December of 2000. Pam loved the beaches, the boardwalks, the sound of the ocean's waves on the shore, blue crabs and beer, fried oyster sandwiches, and all the foods that went with summer-time. She also loved to vacation and travel. In September of 1982 she and George flew to Bermuda and were married in the capital city of Hamilton. Later, they purchased a time-share in the town of St. Georges and spent many enjoyable visits there with friends and relatives. Pam also enjoyed cruising and she and George took several cruises that took them to Alaska, Canada, the East and West Caribbean Islands and Central and South Americas. Pam passed-away at Loudoun County Hospital, Leesburg, VA.  She succumbed to Aspiration Pneumonia and complications brought about by an unusual neurological degenerative disease
