I had the pleasure of working with Wynetta for nearly three years at the Reston, VA Barnes & Noble. She was the pillar of professionalism ... Always cheerful and having a kind word to say, even if things in her personal life were not going so well. She was an incredibly hard worker and an inspiration to all of us in the store. But, what influenced me the most was Wynetta's deep compassion which was demonstrated through her love and dedication for her family, her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and for her foster/adopted son. She and I were both widows and we had talked about our grief and sadness on several occasions. Wynetta lead by example as even in her grief and when she had barely enough to care for herself, she had even more to give to others. She was a woman of great faith and great love. Even after I left the store and moved on to another life, Wynetta was always checking in with me either via email or Facebook to see how I was doing or what was going on in my life. During this time, I was dealing with many difficult challenges in my life ... And, Wynetta instinctively knew this and reached out to me in a very loving and compassionate way. For this I will be forever grateful and fortunate for having her in my life ... Even if it was just for a brief moment. Thank you for your friendship, you will be sincerely missed.
