Nancy and Family, my condolences on the passing of Paul. I went through this 15 years ago when I was working for Paul and my father passed, he was supportive and generous. Paul had a banner made in my fathers memory and hung it on our property where my fathers Garden Center stood, so everyone would remember, an amazing thing to do. He was respected person and had a huge heart. I hope your family finds peace . We will miss him.

Amanda and family, I did not know your father but the article you shared gave me insight to a man who was loving and hardworking. His love for his family shines through out the narrative . I am very sorry for your loss and I am praying that you will find comfort in fond memories and in the knowledge that the love you shared created a bond that goes beyond death.

Sometimes it is true that no good deed goes unpunished. That was the case several years ago when Paul was, as usual, a real good neighbor to me and my late wife Nancy. I came home one night to a missing German Shepherd, Sandy, whose whereabouts were soon known due to a phone message from Paul. "I've got your dog tied up here. Come by and I'll tell you about it." Now Sandy was confined to our lot by an "invisible fence", consisting of a rasio wire loop and a collar that gave her a shock if she crossed that wire loop. How had she gotten out? Paul filled in the details that night. It seems Paul had come home and seen Sandy in the middle of the field, barking at something and circling around it. Sandy loved to play tug-of-rope, and she had found a "living rope", namely an 8 ft. black snake! Paul got out of his car, strode over to Sandy, picked her up and headed for the car. Then he remembered the shock collar. He removed it from Sandy, and holding it in his left hand, with Sandy under his arm, proceeded to cross the wire to his car...Tzzzzap!! Paul dropped the dog and the collar momentarilly, since he had had his hand wrapped around the contacts on the collar! Like I said, being a really great neighbor sometimes gets you punished!
We thanked Paul profusely, and took Sandy back home, thankful for Paul's efforts yet again.

Esther Iseman and I will be attending the graveside service for Paul. Paul and Nancy have been our neighbors since we moved here in 1984, and one could not have asked for better neighbors. Paul has helped me out several times with advice and the like, and he even rescued my dog from danger one evening, much to Paul's unexpected discomfort ... see the "story" elsewhere on this site. We of course extend all possible condolences to Nancy and all.
