Obituary of Dorothy Marie Orr

Dorothy M. Orr, age 80 of Sterling VA passed away Saturday evening June 6, 2015. Dorothy was born in Del Rio Tennessee on September 7, 1934 to the late Carmack and Belvia Stokely. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Stokely and son, Vanis Orr. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Jack Orr, her 4 sons, Arnold Orr, Millard Orr, Johnny Orr, and Orvail Orr, as well as a brother, Mac Stokely and sister, Robbie Daniels. Dorothy was not only a loving and dedicated wife and mother, but also a grandmother to 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Dorothy was a housewife who not only raised her own children, but helped to raise many of her grandchildren. She loved playing cards and dominoes with friends and family, she was also a fan of Horse racing and an even bigger fan of The King himself, Elvis Presley. Dorothy loved traveling home to the Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee and traveling across the Blue Ridge parkway watching the wildlife was her favorite way to go. Dorothy's friends and family will miss her dearly and continue to remember her standing in her kitchen, making her home-made biscuits that only she could make, smiling all the while yelling at the youngin's and listening to her bluegrass. This is how we will remember you. We love and miss you.
