RIP Jack. You are missed but know you are reunited with your family that you dearly missed.
Jack grew up in Horseheads, NY. He was my father's cousin and they remained close up until my father's passing in 2014. Jack's family (cousins)continued to be in contact with him but unfortunately were notified legally about his passing long after the fact. We were not given the opportunity to attend any services for Jack which we most definitely would have done.
Jack had always been a wonderful source of all things family and Horseheads related. He always had a family story to tell. He is truly missed and we are very sorry that we were not with him at the end of his days.
John "Jack" Allen is survived by loving cousins:
Margaert Lynch, Alecia & Gary Archambeault with children, Christian and Alexa, Julie Lynch with son Anthony all of Horseheads, NY, Margaret DeSanto with son Mikael of Rochester, NY, Christopher Lynch of Horseheads, NY and Michael & Francine Lynch with children Gehrig and Alexandra Lyon and Rosie Lyon of Rochester, NY.

Dear Allen Family: John Edard Allen attended the US Navy Japanese Language School at the University of Colorado from 1942-1943. I direct the US Navy Japanese/Oriental Language School Archival Project, http://ucblibraries.colorado.edu/archives/collections/jlsp/index.htm, at the Archives, University of Colorado Boulder Libraries. For 15 years, I have had the pleasure and privilege of contacting, corresponding with, and talking with as many as 650 of the 1700 attendees and sensei of that school, and found them to be a distinguished, interesting, crusty, wry, and accomplished group. The project has allowed me to help preserve the historic legacy of a unique portion of my parents' generation. The only drawback to this project has been the sad duty to write such messages as this one. Please let us know if we can be of service to your family.
