Obituary of Priscilla Mae Fuller

Priscilla Mae Cook, the daughter of William and Fern Cook, was born on December 9, 1920, in Berkeley, California. She died on June 11, 2015 in Fairfax, Virginia. Mae, as she preferred to be called, was raised in Berkeley, California, where she attended Berkeley High School. This is where she met her future husband, John Fuller, who played in the band with her. Mae went on to University of California, Berkeley, where she eventually graduated. During her years at UC Berkeley Mae was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority and an avid player for the Cal Field Hockey Team. Mae and John were married on May 15, 1942. At the time of her death they had been married seventy-three years. Mrs. Fuller, as her students referred to her, began a teaching career at Pleasanton High School, Pleasanton, California, 1943-1945. She continued her career at Mira Costa High School, Manhattan Beach, California, 1960-1963, and then Herndon High School, Herndon, Virginia, 1966-1978, when she retired. Following retirement, Mae traveled the world with her husband and worked on various community projects in the Reston, Virginia area. Mae eventually settled in Fairfax, Virginia where she lived with her husband until the time of her death. Mae is survived by her husband, John Leslie Fuller, Fairfax, Virginia; her five children, George Stuart Fuller, Oakley, California, Carolyn Ann Fuller, Greshem, Oregon, Geoffrey Dodson Fuller and his wife Lisa Fuller, North Potomac, Maryland, Dr. Alison Gail Fuller, Nashville, Tennessee and Jennifer Leslie Fuller, San Antonio, Texas and eighteen grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services will be held at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 432 Van Buren Street, Herndon, Virginia, on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 11:00 am. The family will receive visitors at the church prior to the service starting at 10:00 am. A small reception will follow in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
