Obituary of Margaret E. Aitken

Margaret E. Aitken, age 76, of Lansdowne, VA, formerly of Westford, MA and Hingham, MA died on May 29, 2009 at her daughter's home in Great Falls, VA. She was born on September 19, 1932 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Thomas and Mary Guinea Griffin. Peg was a graduate of St. Vincent's School of Nursing, NYC, and spent her life involved in the nursing profession. She was an avid gardener with her late husband, Thomas and loving mother to her children and grandchildren. Peg was the beloved wife of 43 years of the late Thomas J. Aitken, loving and devoted mother of Maryellen Lynch of Silver Spring, MD, Michael Aitken of Concord, NH, Kathleen Wiegand of Washington, DC, Elizabeth Carollo of Payson, AZ, Thomas Aitken of Manchester, CT, Timothy Aitken of Gardner, MA, Allen Aitken of Manchester, CT, Jeanne Potter of Great Falls, VA, sister of Kevin Griffin and Dennis Griffin, proud grandmother of 22 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 14 th at 2pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to your local SPCA or Humane Society.
