Obituary of Philip Michael Mobbs

Philip M. Mobbs, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the age of 64.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Philip H. and Katherine E. Mobbs. Philip is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Ann Mobbs; and two brothers, Thomas Mobbs (Diane) and Robert Mobbs (Deborah).
Philip was a Geologist and was employed for several years with the U.S.G.S. He valued his wonderful co-workers who were so supportive of him during his illness and also throughout his career. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam Conflict which followed his attending the U.S. Coast Guard Academy located in New London, Connecticut.
Philip graduated college receiving his Masters Degree in the field of Geology from LSU. He also attained multiple other advanced degrees which he earned over his lifetime.
Philip was a devout Catholic and loved his faith, his family and his many friends.
The family appreciates and would like to recognize the care which Philip's co-workers had provided to him as well as the wonderful care he also received from the staff at Capital Care Hospice.
A Catholic Memorial Mass will celebrate Philip's life at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 11900 Lawyer's Road, Reston, VA on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 10:30 AM with Father Robert Mancini officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date to be determined at Quantico National Cemetery with military honors.
