Obituary of Sarah Anne de la Fe

In loving memory Sarah Anne de la Fe, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away August 17, 2015 after a well-fought battle with Parkinson's. Sarah Anne is survived by her husband Frank, daughters Catherine and Mary, Son-in-law Dionicio, grandchildren Megan, Caitlin and Juan, and sisters, Joan, Sharon and Kathleen. Born in St. Louis, Sarah Anne Prendergast was raised in Spokane, Washington. After graduating from Gonzaga University in 1963, she moved to Washington, DC where she met and married Frank de la Fe in 1964. The de la Fe family began their life in Reston, VA in 1971 where they found an extended family in Regency Square Cluster - otherwise known as the TEDS - and St. Thomas a Becket Church. In her 44 years in Reston, Sarah Anne was a soccer coach, a lector and volunteer at St. Thomas and the Reston Catholic Community. For over 25 years Sarah worked as a realtor where she found joy and satisfaction helping people find their new homes. Sarah Anne was an avid reader, a joy she passed on to her children and grandchildren- and she had a wonderful time exploring new books and authors with her book club. Additionally, she treasured the fun get togethers and new friendships made with her "Red Hat Ladies." A visitation will be held 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 23 at Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon, VA and a funeral mass will take place at St. Thomas a Becket Church in Reston, VA at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 24. In lieu of flowers we ask that friends and family consider a donation to Walk Off Parkinson's which benefits the Parkinson Foundation of the National Capital Area.
