Obituary of Marjorie Mae Collins

Marjorie "Margie" M. Collins, 93, died peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Morning Side House of Leesburg.
She was born on November 15, 1921 in Great Falls, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Homer Presgrave and the late Edith Cummins Presgrave. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband the late Thomas E. Collins and her sister Pauline Pugh.
Margie married Clarence Goode in 1943 and had three children, Marvin, Michael and Marlene. She later married Thomas Collins who also had three children, Dan, Eddie and Andy. She was a wonderful wife and mother to her family. Margie retired as a civilian employee of the U.S. Air Force in 1988 after 30 years of service.
Margie had a very full and diverse life with many interests, including a love for cooking and sharing hospitality with one and all. Traveling to warm and sunny places was also a joy for her.
She is survived by her children Marvin Goode and his wife, Kathryn of Great Falls, VA, Michael C. Goode and his wife, Diane of Charles Town, WV and Marlene G. Shaffer and her husband, Bruce of Round Hill, VA; her sister, Joan P. Smith of Great Falls, VA; six grandchildren, James, Michael, Jeffrey, Stephanie, Jill and Brian; ten great-grandchildren, Kaili, Amelia, Sarah, Anna, Rachael, Michael, Connor, Paige, Nathan, and Lily.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Adams Green Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Great Falls United Methodist Church with Pastor Denise Childers officiating. Burial will follow at Arnon Cemetery.
