Just received the latest DBP Magazine and learned of Mr. B’s passing. I was in his Civics class in the first semester of my senior year. The 1960 presidential election was in full swing and most of the Catholic community was in the Kennedy camp. Mr. B was not. He explained the different political philosophies between Nixon and Kennedy and assigned us to read Barry Goldwater’s ‘Conscience of a Conservative’. The lessons learned from that class are with me to this day… maybe the only thing from high school that’s still with me. RIP Mr. B, and thank you.
