Megan Maguire (Wilkinson)
Mother, Artist, CPA
A long-time resident of Bethesda, MD, Megan passed away in Nokesville, VA on Monday, November 16, 2015, at the age of 45. After a long, hard fight, her health problems overcame her.
Megan was born in Washington, DC and grew up in Reston, VA. She was a bright and talented artist. She arranged to graduate from South Lakes HS in three years and was accepted to the Rhode Island School of Design. After two years, Megan transferred to Towson State University where she was awarded a degree in Art History. She later advanced her career by earning an MS in Accounting at American University, and became a Certified Public Accountant. She worked for several major firms, served as a CFO, and became a recognized specialist in property-related accounting. In recent years, her medical problems rendered her disabled, although she still hoped to teach art.
Her beloved boys, Arik, the soccer player, and Caddain, the rock-climber and musician, were the focus on her life and her greatest joy. She liked to cook and bake, and created truly remarkable birthday cakes - as much art as food! And, she loved the beach and dreamed of living there one day.
Her first marriage, to Peter Moe, ended in divorce. She is predeceased by her husband, Daniel Watt.
Megan is survived by her two sons, Arik Moe of Bethesda, MD, and Caddain Moe of Arbutus, MD; her mother, Maryann Vickers (Doug) of Tarpon Springs, FL; her brother, Clayton Wilkinson (Teresa) of San Jose, CA; and her father, Bill Wilkinson (Janet) of Bethesda, MD. Funeral service will be private. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to your favorite charity.
