Obituary of Gayle Lally Reed

Gayle L. Reed (age 68) Gayle L. Reed, beloved wife, aunt, friend, volunteer, and stand-in grandmother, died suddenly on December 11. She was born on December 15, 1946 in Uniontown, PA, and has lived in Sterling, VA for 40 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Martin P. Lally and Blanche B. Shutok, and her brother Brian T. Lally. She is survived by her husband, Charles Reed, brothers Frank and Lance Lally, sister Sharon Lehman, several nieces, nephews, and de facto grandchildren. After retiring from a career with Fairfax Hospital, Gayle found a second career as a talented self-employed hair stylist, and also spent many years volunteering each week at food banks and thrift stores in Sterling and Herndon. She was a member of Christ the Redeemer Church in Sterling, VA. Gayle was a lifelong animal lover, the best person to ever have in your corner, and she is missed dearly by her family. The family will receive friends from 9:30am until service time on Wed. December 16, 2015 at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church 46833 Harry Byrd Hwy. Sterling, VA 20164; where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon, VA. Email condolences may be made at adamsgreen.com.
