Please share a memory of Lou to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Louise Ann Donahue Rowe (Lou Ann), 78, of Reston, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016. She died peacefully after falling and suffering from a brain stem stroke earlier that same day. Lou Ann had been struggling valiantly for almost a year to recover from complications following her triple by-pass surgery in January 2015. She was born in Washington, D.C., to George Rodney and Catherine Barker Donahue. Lou Ann graduated from St. Cecilia's Academy, married her high school sweetheart, and began a 25-year career on Capitol Hill, ultimately working 10 years as an Administrative Assistant for the Ways and Means Committee. She retired from Capitol Hill and had a wonderful second career working at Pebble Beach in Monterey, California; the Grand Teton National Park, in Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and the Yosemite National Park in California. She is remembered as a devoted and loving mother and grandmother and is survived by her three children, Joanne Taylor; Joe Rowe, Jr.; and Suzy Young; her son-in-law, Bruce Taylor; and her five grandchildren, Shaun, Chelsea, and Dean Rowe, and Laura and Eric Young. A service will be held at Adams-Green Funeral Home on Friday, January 8, 2016, at 12 noon. A reception will follow at her daughter and son-in-law's home. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
