Obituary of Lesley McGehee Casey

Lesley McGehee Casey Passed away on Thursday, December 24th, 2015 peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born in Richmond, VA to Harry Coleman Jr. and June McGehee in 1949 and raised in her adolescent years in Alexandria, VA as part of T.C. Williams High School's first graduating class. She later pursued her desire for art and teaching after receiving her degree from the College of William and Mary. She continued her teaching in Chicago with elementary aged Special Ed students and back in Virginia as an Art teacher at St. Agnes, Lanier Intermediate, Herndon Intermediate, and Herndon High School where she retired after 25 years of teaching. Lesley was naturally talented with artistic ability to fill an entire house of her original pieces with each better than the next. She also was an avid photographer and world traveler. She is survived by her mother June McGehee, siblings Alex McGehee and husband Dave, Harry McGehee, Donald McGehee and wife Lisa, Cary McGehee, and daughter Cary and son Neil. Saturday January 16th, a memorial service will be held at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church 432 Van Buren St, Herndon, VA 20170. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lesley's name to Council for the Arts of Herndon.
