Obituary of James Anthony Iarrobino

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
After a long battle with cancer, James "Jimmy" Iarrobino died on January 4, 2016 in Fairfax, Virginia at the age of 67. Jimmy was born on May 29, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York to parents Anthony and Lillian Iarrobino. He entered the Army at age 17 and worked as a cryptographer in Europe during the Vietnam War. Upon honorable discharge, Jimmy spent his whole career in the airline cargo industry. He was a cargo service executive with British Airways for 41 years where he was a recognized leader and friend to many. Upon retirement in 2010, Jimmy loved spending time with his wife and family. He enjoyed cooking and baking; fishing at the family cabin; top-down days riding in his Sebring; winning big (and losing big) at the casino with his wife, Rosemarie; vacations to the beach; and being surrounded by family. Jimmy will always be remembered for his sense of humor; for being the best, most loving husband to Rosemarie and father to their four children; and for being an overall handsome guy. Jimmy is survived by his wife Rosemarie, his daughter Nicole and daughter-in-law Katy; his daughter Lauren and son-in-law Zied; his son James; his sister Pat DeChristopher and brother-in-law Freddy; and his sister Diane Reda. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Johnny, and his son Gregory. Jimmy will be celebrated during a prayer service on Saturday, January 9, 2016. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, Virginia, 20170. Prayer service will be from 6:00 - 7:00 PM at the same location. Family and friends are encouraged to bring stories to share about Jimmy during the prayer service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Joseph's Church for the Gregory Iarrobino Memorial Scholarship Fund, 750 Peachtree St, Herndon, VA 20170.
