Uncle Mike's abilities at Trivial Pursuit are a legend in my family. We weren't slouches at the game, but whenever we sat down to play at our cabin in the north woods of Wisconsin, we made Uncle Mike get TWO of each wedge in order to win the game. Otherwise no game would have been close.
In the rare cases when he got an answer wrong, he would demand to see the card, and many times he would simply take the card out of the game, insisting that it was the card, and not he, who was wrong. At first I thought this was crazy - but eventually in the face of overwhelming evidence I came to think he was probably right about those too.

I'm so sorry to have lost such a thoughtful, generous, and kind uncle. He was committed to truth and science, and to kindness and fatherhood and country. He served as a model for me in lots of ways, growing up, and I'm grateful for it.

To the Hugger Family I am so sorry for your loss. It is difficult to cope with the death of our dear loved one, but we have our special memories to help us to move forward. God is always there to comfort us (2 Corinthians 1:3,4). We can also consider Acts 24:15 where we read about the hope of the resurrection of both the just and unjust. I pray this helps you to find peace.

All the condolences help a little but no matter what the circumstance its very difficult to understand the why of something. But know that Our Lord wanted him now and that He will give you the strength to get through the coming days, months and years. As you know,Janet, I met Michael in Vietnam and he was a very caring, sincere, warm-hearted person. He was very thoughtful in his dealings with the populace and understood their needs. His inquisitiveness and desire to understand all things were what made him a beautiful person. We will all miss Michael but we are blessed for having known him.

Uncle Michael, you will be missed…Your service to your country for over 40 years to include a deployment to Vietnam, and countless years dedicated to combating an sundry of threats was truly an example of your unselfishness as well as your dedication. On a personal note, you always took the time to visit and spend time with your nieces and nephews both providing advice and guidance as well as telling great stories of your travels and adventures. To my Aunt Janet, and my cousins I wish you the very best in this time of grieving

I’m deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Dr. Hugger was a remarkable gentleman who will not be forgotten. God assures us that we are precious to him with the promise of future blessings of a resurrection that we will be with our loved ones again (Isaiah 26:19). Rev. 21:4, “…the tent of God is with mankind…he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more…” May Dr. Hugger memories shared, stay forever in your heart. Love Sheila
