Obituary of John Clemence Hawraj

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John Clemens Hawraj was 91 years old when Jesus called him Home, on March 19, 2016. John was the loving and only son of Klemens and Mary Hawraj; brother to Julie (deceased), Helen, and Frances; the husband of 71 years to his beloved wife June; and the father of Judith and Diane. He was blessed with four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. John grew up in Yonkers, New York and began working with his father as a carpenter, leading to a long and successful career in home remodeling, construction and apartment ownership/management. Married in 1944, John and June left Yonkers in 1945 for Miami, Florida to start and raise his family. John had a deep devotion and faith in the Lord and was an active member of the Miami Temple Seventh Day Adventist Church. John was a long time member of the Polish American Club of Miami and John and June excelled in at all types of ballroom dancing. Due to failing health John and June moved to Reston, Virginia in 2014 to be closer to their daughter, son-in-law and extended family. John loved life and as June always said of him, "He never met a stranger." He always had a good joke to tell, laughing at his jokes harder than anyone else. Let us celebrate John and reflect on the many wonderful memories we have of him!
