Obituary of Janice Lee O'Neill

Janice Lee O'Neill, 65, died on Monday, March 28, 2016, surrounded by loved ones, after a battle with colon cancer. Janice is survived in death by two sisters, Bernice Rechlis, of Denver, Colorado and Louise Rechlis of New York City. Janice is also survived by her four children, Jonathan O'Neill of Centreville and his wife Mary, Laurence O'Neill of Reston and his wife Anna, Miriam (O'Neill) Briskin of Reston and her husband Dimitry, and Dennis O'Neill of Chantilly and his wife Amanda. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Addison (Jonathan and Mary) and Lilianna (Laurence and Anna). Janice was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 27, 1951 to Miriam and Benjamin Rechlis. Janice loved her job as a cardiac nurse at Reston Hospital and a RN at HealthSouth in Aldie, Virginia. Often times while on shift, Janice was called the jokester of the floor telling jokes, singing songs, and bringing joy to all around her. Janice was a loving and courageous mother, devoting her time to supporting her four children. With a true heart of gold, she always put others first. She had a passionate soul, a positive outlook on life, and always reminded people of how much they were loved. Janice always wanted others to be happy and often took the extra step to help those around her. She was loved by all and was a shining light to everyone around her. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Adams-Green Funeral Home. Family and friends are also welcome to attend a funeral service, which will be held at the Manassas Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, April 2, at 10 AM with Pastor Allen Perdue officiating. A burial will follow at Bright View Cemetery.
