Renee , I miss your face everyday. I miss the laughter and silliness. there are still patients asking about you. Your loving kindness to them will never be forgotten.
I cannot believe 1 year has passed. I still share with the patients all the funny things you used to do like dancing on St. Patrick's day. My dearest friend- it truly isn't the same without you. miss you always., love Donna

I have known Renee since 2005. It was she who administered my first chemo at that time. The prospect of getting chemo is frightening, but she got me through it with flying colors. In the subsequent 10+ years, the on-again / off-again treatment has become routine and I enjoy and appreciate all the wonderful nurses in Oncology, bit Renee has a special place in my heart. I will truly miss her.

Renee had a smile and presence that lit up the oncology/infusion ward of Kaiser. She was always smiling and full of joy to everyone who saw her and she brought that joy to a critical place, the cancer and infusion center. Renee was always high energy and a consummate professional. She will be truly missed. May god comfort the family and bring peace that surpasses all understanding. We all loved Renee but God loved her more.

In 1997 I met and worked with Renee first at Fairfax Hospital and then Kaiser. She was an extremely knowledgeable nurse, hardworking, and respected by all who worked with her. Regardless of how busy she was, she never hesitated to help colleagues and enjoyed mentoring other nurses who sought her out for her outstanding clinical expertise. We all marveled at how Renee could start IVs on anyone, especially patients with poor veins after multiple unsuccessful attempts had been made. Patients loved Renee because they knew she cared so dearly for them. She went beyond the call of duty to ensure they received the best of care, skipping lunch and often staying late beyond normal working hours. It wasn’t just what she did, but how she did it….Renee brought much needed joy and laughter into a workplace for patients often fighting life threatening illnesses like cancer and for the healthcare team caring for them. This is how she became more than a coworker and also became a friend to so many. As committed as she was to work, Renee was even more devoted to her family, pouring her heart and soul into her beloved Duane, EJ, and Olivia. Renee shared with us how her biggest wishes and dreams came true when she married Duane, the love of her life, and in becoming a mother with the birth of their two beautiful children, EJ and Olivia. We enjoyed listening to Renee talk about the delicious meals Duane made and giggle retelling stories of EJ and Oliva through the years. Her legacy is her passion for a life spent giving so much of herself to so many people who, like me, who will cherish wonderful memories of our most beloved Renee. I loved and admired Renee and will remember her as one of the best friends I’ll ever have. Though we suffer and grieve her physical departure from our lives, we can pray and hope that we will see Renee again and share in her eternal life with God. “The heart that serves, and loves, and clings, hears everywhere the rush of angel wings.” Donna and Larry McCoy

I worked with Renee and have known her for the past three and a half years...it feels like I have known her since ages. Her morning wish was "hi sweetie' and when I say bye to her at the end of the day she would reply 'bye boo boo'..Several times we walked out together after loooong days at work and she would still talk passionately about work, we would talk about family and our teenage kids..
When anyone at work gets sick she was the first person to call or send a msg..Recently I had to make an Emergency trip home to see my dad and last year my mom. Hers was the first msg saying' Pam I have been thinking about you and I am praying for you' .She never forgot to give every one of her friends Christmas presents.. I Have a journal she gave me for last Christmas with Biblical verses and words of wisdom titled 'Words to warm a Woman's heart'.. .. Here is a verse from the journal.. "I am always with you, you hold me by my right hand, you guide me with your counsel and afterward you will take me in to glory" Psalm 73 , 23-24 how true...Yes..He has taker her in to glory....miss you Renee..Thank you for everything... God will guide and bless your beloved Duane,Edward and Olivia...Until we meet again.... Pam

I remember , not too long ago, Renee was expecting her second child, Olivia. She was in her third trimester, she was still running around in the clinic taking care passionately of her patients. Yet still found time to come to the pharmacy reminding us to take lunch break and eat the delicious lunch that a patient brought in. It was 16 years ago.
I still remember , not too long ago, we were doing the off-site chemo mixing. I had to call her on Sunday afternoon discussing some issues and asking for advises. She was very helpful, offering advises and solutions and never made me feel that I had been disturbing her sunday family time. It was over 10 years ago.
I still remember Peter and I attending her 50th Birthday party. She was so dolled up and so glamorous. She walked into the room like a super star. Well , Renee is always a super star among us. She infected us with her heartfelt laugh, her compassionate nature toward her patients, her colleagues and her friends, her dedication to her profession and her family.
I am mad at the big guy up there taking our Renee away from us too soon , but I thank you for letting me have a chance to know her and work with her for the pass 16 years. I will treasure this fond memories forever.Renee, I miss you and I will alway love you.

I also worked with Renee for 17 years. We shared so many moments together. Tears, laughter, anger, you name it we all went through it. I'll never forget the day she was laughing hysterically at me trying to teach a pt on the phone to stay away from sharps. Her laughter kept distracting me and I kept saying "stay away from knives, stay away from knives!" She wound up on the floor rolling around laughing so hard that I had to put the phone on hold and join in. This is just one of many memories I have of Renee.
She was dedicated, fierce, fought for patients, encouraging, at times Shaniqua (her twin) and poured her life into her career. But she was also a loving wife and mother and so proud of her beautiful family.
Renee I will miss you terribly and find it hard to fathom that you are gone. You will always be in my heart and mind. I love you,
Suzanne

I worked with Renee for 17 years- we have laughed alot, cried alot, complained alot .Most of all, we share our lives taking care of others. Renee always gave 110% for the patients. She poured out her love into their lives when hope seemed impossible. She bonded with the patients and their family members. That's just who she was.
Renee and I tremendously enjoyed provided comic relief for the patients- egging each other on. Laughter was a big part of her life. Sometimes the patients would say, " I really enjoy coming for chemo -I know that sounds strange, because we have a good time and you nurses really care!"
She wore many hats: wonderful wife, super mother, wise oncology nurse, sassy sister, faithful friend, tender teacher, natural leader, empathetic caretaker, darling daughter, the list goes on. Most importantly, she was known and loved by all who crossed her path.
Renee will truly be missed, but never forgotten. Who could forget that joyous laughter? Her physical heart gave out , but her beautiful spiritual heart was too large to contain and will continue for eternity with the Lord. We shall meet again in heaven .
I know she is in heaven watching over all of us, encouraging us on our journey. She truly loved all. She's dancing in fancy high heels on the streets of gold. I have been blessed to have known such an amazing woman. I will miss you Baby girl! Till we meet again.
Love you

It was my privilege to have worked with such an awesome nurse as Renee. She cared so deeply for her patients and coworkers. She was passionate about her vocation and touched so many lives with her healing hands and heart. She made us laugh with her larger than life personality and antics. She was always able to laugh at herself. I will never forget her loud hearty laughter. She will be sorely missed at work. We can see her turning the corner in the clinic in just a minute.....
Here are some of her "famous" Renee-isms:
