Obituary of Robert Richard Rudine

RUDINE Robert Richard Rudine, age 72 and the son of Margie and Edward Rudine, passed away peacefully at his residence in Herndon, on April 30, 2016 after a lengthy illness. Robert proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and later was employed with Honeywell Corporation as a Computer Programmer. During his spare time, Robert had a great passion of photography and gardening. His dedicated gardening earned him the neighborhood name of "Mr. Flowers". The beauty of his botanical garden was well renowned throughout the Herndon area. He was greatly loved and appreciated by his fellow neighbors and community and will be missed by everyone. Robert is survived by his sister, Patricia Rudine; his nieces, Ester Webber, Stephanie Bates , Samantha Cummins and Stacy Cummins along with all of their children. A memorial gathering will be held at the Herndon Moose Lodge for friends and family at a later date in May. Graveside burial services will be held in Deridder, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Smithsonian Institute Society in the memory of Robert Rudine.
