Sylvia Doreen Heyn, age 87, of Great Falls VA passed away on April 29, 2016.
Born to Edgar and Annie-Maria Molloy on October 26, 1928 in Norfolk, England. Sylvia (or “Sybil” as she was better known) spent her younger days in a port town in Greater Yarmouth known as Gorleston-on-Sea, a place from which she had wonderful memories and was very fond of. Sybil loved modeling and the fashion world and was crowned Miss Great Yarmouth in her late teen years. Later she met Eiler Christian Heyn, a Captain in the United States Air Force. They enjoyed their youth which included driving beautiful cars along the English countryside. They immediately fell in love and wed on November 5, 1955 in Norfolk, England; they were married almost 59 years.
Sylvia and Eiler moved from England to the United States soon after getting married and having their first born son Clive. Once in the US, they had two more sons, Nigel and Tristan. Her kind, humble, sensitive personality are traits which are passed along to all her children which are passed along to all her grandchildren and will survive her forever through the family. Both Sybil and Eiler had very traditional and humble values; Sybil was a stay-at-home Mom to her three sons whom she was very proud of and loved very much. Sybil had started her own business which developed her avid love for sales and design of custom jewelry and gemstones. She continued her pursuit of art which included paintings of all sorts. Sybil continued to fill her days spending time with good friends, good books, cooking for her family, afternoon tea and enjoying watching her grandchildren grow up.
Sylvia is survived by her three sons: Clive, Nigel and Tristan and her four grandchildren: Christian, Alexandra, Elizabeth and Ashley. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Eiler Christian Heyn in October 2014.
A memorial service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on July 15, 2016.
