Antoinette Marie Berinato ("Toni") Singleton, age 93, formerly of San Antonio, Texas, died peacefully on Sunday morning, May 22, 2016 at Sunrise at Reston Town Center. Toni moved to Reston, Virginia in 2010 to spend more time with her great niece, Alicia Antolini Cook, and her family, Sean, Tommy, and Grace Cook. Born October 9, 1922 in Ashtabula, Ohio, she was the daughter of Anthony and Maria (Renda) Berinato. She was one of eight children. Toni was a graduate of Ashtabula High School and in 1948 graduated from the Ohio State University College of Nursing. On March 7, 1969, she married Eugene Singleton, her loving husband for over 25 years. Toni devoted her life to caring for our country's veterans. She worked for over forty years at VA Medical Centers in Charleston, South Carolina and Houston, Texas. Toni retired with her husband in San Antonio and traveled extensively throughout Europe, South America, and Asia. She lived her life with a deep faith in God and service to others. Toni will be remembered for her friendly nature and contagious smile. Of all her interests and accomplishments, Toni treasured her family most. Survivors include her brother, Anthony Berinato of Ashtabula; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Toni was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene; her brother, Frank Berinato; her sisters, Josephine Mahaffy, Delores Carano, Jean Soltis, Theresa Condron, Jennie Rose; and her step-brother, Guilford (Gib) Condron. A celebration of life and prayer service will be held from 2 p.m - 4 p.m., on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, Virginia 20170. Toni and her family are most grateful for all of her caregivers at Sunrise at Reston Town Center, The Group Care Agency, and VITAS Healthcare.
