Kevin was a friend, Brother and Mentor to me. He was generous with his time, help and advice. His suggestions helped me greatly in many different areas of life. He will be sorely missed. I hope Colleen, Kyle and Caitlyn can find some small solace in the outpouring of love and respect shown for him.

Kevin Harp was a true-blue American and veteran of the U.S. Navy (Kevin taught me the meaning of Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot, or "WTF" which is Naval shorthand for expressing incredulity. He was a proud native son of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and a good team mate at Freddie Mac. He was one of the good guys. Godspeed, Kevin.

Colleen, Kyle and Caitlyn – I am deeply saddened by your loss. My thoughts are with you. I worked with Kevin at Grants.gov over the past few years. I got to know to him, both professionally and as a friend. He was a very kind and genuinely helpful person. He went out of his way to help me settle in when I was starting the assignment. He also acted as my coach helping me run my first marathon. Kevin will always be in our hearts and memories.

Kevin had a huge impact on my journey in our fraternity. He gave a great deal of his time, energy, and attention to me and was always willing to share his knowledge and experience with me. I like to think that Kevin and I had a unique relationship, but I know that he gave of his time to many and was always willing to share his knowledge and experience with anyone who was traveling on the same journey as himself. Thank you, Kevin, for accompanying me on my journey. Rest well, my Brother. I pray that your Heaven is place where the whiskey is smooth, the instruments are in tune, and there is always laughter and joy.

My condolences to family, friends, and coworkers who will miss a wonderful husband, father, friend, and colleague. I had the privilege of knowing Kevin as a colleague and friend for 11 years, and while there are so many good things I could say about him, I will pick just three words for now: integrity, loyalty, and capability. Kevin valued all three and lived accordingly. I would like his family to know in no uncertain terms that he was well liked and appreciated by many, for being a hard worker, loyal friend, and good person. We will all miss him in our own way. I will miss hiking, biking, and camping with him at Great Falls and surrounding areas, his friendly but objective oversight at work, and his shared love of pho soup. I am so sad he is gone, but will be forever thankful for the memories and our time together.

My condolences for Kevin's family; I just heard from a colleague the news. I met Kevin in 1992 while working together at Freddie Mac and have had common colleagues and worked in the same field ever since. I just always figured i'd get another email from him about some mutual colleague we shared anew.

About 11 years ago I stood in a local music store. Like a typical 'guitar geek' I stood looking at all the great guitars that were for sale. After a few minutes I noticed this guy standing next to me doing the same. Naturally, we started the conversation that us guitar players usually have: What kind of guitar do you play? What kind of music do you play? That guy was Kevin and the conversation led to us playing together. Since that first meeting we continued to play guitar just about every Friday night. I have read other entries in tribute to Kevin from coworkers and lodge buddies and I want to add to his story by telling you what a great guitar player Kevin was. He really could play traditional flatpick guitar and it was always a joy to trade tunes with him. I can't begin to tell you how much I will miss the musical conversations we had. There are references in traditional American music to the 'Angel Band'. I think they just got another great picker. He's probably trading choruses with Doc right now. "Pick it son!"

Kevin and I worked together at Grants.gov for about 3 years. We shared a cube wall. Over time we got to know each other through that wall and enjoyed commenting on the many goings on and personalities around us. Kevin liked things on his terms and if I asked him to run a report he would always say - yes but it'll take me a couple of days. Invariably, he'd have it to me within the hour. Truly a teddy bear within. He loved his family and crazy dog. He will be much missed.

Kev - I miss you incredibly. It's hard for me to come into the office and see your cube door closed. It's also hard for me to capture the grief and sadness that I feel. Colleen, Kyle, and Caitlyn - Kevin and I sat next to each other at work. Spent 8h a day together at Grants.gov. Needless to say, we bonded very strongly. Kevin was a great man and dedicated to his family. A tough and straight-up exterior, but a big softy inside when he let you in. I'm very lucky and grateful that he let me in. He always told me the going-ons in his life, and he always put up with (and was amused by) my shenanigans. He talked about you all of the time and was very proud of you. (Caitlyn - he left that big colorful umbrella in the office and let me use it all of the time.) I take enormous comfort that he's riding that big motorcycle across the sky with a huge smile on his face and that he's always looking down on all of us. That makes me smile. RIP, Kev.

Kevin was the friend I found as geo-bachelor when I needed someone I could trust. He was someone I knew would keep me honest and true. He turned out to be my mentor. I will miss our precious moments playing pool, chess, and darts. I will also miss our talks about the Navy, challenges, and experiences varied between our two generations. Farewell, my friend - fair winds and following seas.

Kevin's family, I have worked with Kevin for over 11 years. I got to hear about you all multiple times at work. He cared about his family a lot. I hope you find courage and strength to cope with this tragedy. He was a great man and many of us will miss him. Kevin, I didn't get to tell you how much I admired you as a manager, a coworker and as an individual. Now I am writing. I hope the technology has advanced enough to deliver you this message. Before I met you, I heard that 'you had a lot of experience under your belt and will add tremendous value to our team'. You have proved this statement right several times! I have admired your ability to make the right decisions, enthusiasm to keep up with the technology and changing system, the way you guided us as a manager, your writing skills, work ethics and much more. You were always honest and straight forward. Over the years many times I got to see your caring and kind hearted side. You were a great example and I am happy to have known you and learnt from you. RIP.

I worked closely with Kevin on the Grants.gov Program Management Office when the initiative was being developed and implemented at the US Department of Health and Human Services. He was a critical member of the team and we owe much to him for the success of the program. I recently ran into Kevin for I have moved back to the building where he was stationed. Kevin and I often discussed our children and exchanged stories about being parents. I am so sad. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Kevin was a very good man and I will miss him.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. Kevin was a great friend and brother in masonry to me. He acted as my mentor and district leader the year I served as master of Olive Branch Lodge in Leesburg. He was also a great traveling companion as we would share rides out to lodge events and go to Scottish Rite every month. I hope that Kevin's family and friends find comfort and healing. Rest Well Brother Kevin

Dear Right Worshipful Kevin, In addition to all the countless Masonic meetings and events we shared over these many years, the many weekly Friday luncheons for these last couple years particularly gave us a special opportunity to share so many personal stories and really bond. I am still in shock and overwhelmingly sad to think we will not be having weekly luncheons going forward and we will not be in Lodge together, except in spirit. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to your wife and your family and so many friends who are now devastated by your passing. May the support and love of family and friends be there to help your family during this time of such grief. You left us way too soon My Brother. May you rest in peace and may God continue to bless you and keep you. I know I am only one of so very many who can say their lives were made better because Stuart Kevin Harp touched us in such a positively impactful way. Hoping we meet again one day at the Celestial Lodge. Sincerely, Ted
