Saying farewell to a good soul, good husband, good father, good son, good sibling, good mentor, good neighbor, and good friend is never easy. It is especially hard, when you must say a final farewell to a remarkable man like John Maki. He will be missed, in so many ways, by so many people. He served his country in so many ways. He enriched the lives of so many. He provided aid and succor to those in need. He was a bright and creative man with so much more to offer the world professionally and personally. While he left us too soon and will be sorely missed, he left an enduring legacy that he and his family can justly be proud of and the likes of which all should aspire to achieving. Farewell John Maki! Yours was a life well lived! A Life Well Lived A life well lived is a precious gift Of hope and strength and grace, From someone who has made our world A brighter, better place. It’s filled with moments, sweet and sad With smiles and sometimes tears, With friendships formed and good times shared And laughter through the years. A life well lived is a legacy Of joy and pride and pleasure, A living, lasting memory Our grateful hearts we’ll treasure.
