Obituary of David Philip Larsen

David Philip Larsen, 86, a career Army Corps of Engineer officer who served in the Korean and Vietnam wars, and a former Herndon Town Manager, died June 17, 2016, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Born in 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA, he attended West Virginia University and was an avid WVU Mountaineer, who also loved Nationals baseball and Redskins football. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley; three daughters Ruth Osborn (William) of Long Beach, CA.; Frances Larsen of Herndon and Elizabeth Larsen (Matthew Burtt) of Reston; and one granddaughter, Ann Osborn.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, June 24, at Adams Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, Virginia. A private family graveside service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery.
