Dear Harriet,
Larry and I just now heard about your great loss. We're so sorry. Bob did so much good in his life. We knew some of it, partly from your article in the Reston magazine, but we didn't know about Reston Interfaith and such involvement with St. Thomas a Becket parish.
I recently saw my diary entries from the mid to late 70s when our daughters were such good friends. My father worked at Bell Labs in NJ and, of course, there was all that time that Bob and Larry worked at Mitre--many connections.
We hope to see you. "Well done (Bob), thou good and faithful servant".

Such a kind, gracious and sharp witted man. I'll always think of him as a pillar of our town Reston and of St. Thomas A Becket. Sending you prayers of peace and love.

Uncle Bob will be singing with and telling crazy jokes to all the angels in heaven! So sorry for your loss and praise to our Creator for a life well lived.

I was so sorry to hear about Mr. Hanlon's passing. He and his family have always had a place in mine and my family's life as we grew up in Reston. Especially our involvement in St. Thomas and Reston Interfaith. He, along with his compatriots who chose Reston from the beginning, played such an incredible role in creating and growing these incredible community institutions - like Cornerstones, Reston Chorale, and St. Thomas a Becket - and helped to raise a generation of kids who are active members of our communities.
He was always ready with a smile and a welcome for everyone. I know I will be forever grateful for having had him in my life.

With great sadness we learned of Bob's passing this week. A great Irishman with an impish grin and a heart of gold. Fr. Tom used to call him Father Christmas, as he was such a legacy at St. Thomas. He will be missed greatly.
