Dear Trevor and all of Julie's family,
Julie was a unique person, sincere and dedicated to her job and her friends, stubborn and set in her ways as well. My class room was adjacent to hers for several years at W. T. Woodson HS and we became forever friends. She will be missed by many who were close to her. My memories of Julie are of years past and those memories will outweigh and outlast those of her last years when this disease overtook her mind and her body.
My deepest sympathy to you all.
Monika Martin

I am so sorry for your loss. Ms. Mathews was my Cheerleading coach at W.T. Woodson from 1981-84. I never did have her as a Math Teacher, but that was probably because that was never my strong suit. She was a wonderful teacher and coach and I know she will be deeply missed.

I am so sorry for your loss! Mrs Mathews was my algebra teacher in 1989-90. I was also her student assistant in 1991-92. To this day I give her all the credit of turning me on to math! I graduated in 1993 and never wanted to go back to visit WTW except to see her but I never made it. I would have loved to share with her the fact that I am now a math teacher. I teach 7th grade special education and general education students. I love my job and I know this came from being with her for two years. My prayers and thoughts are with your family!

May you all find peace in a life well lived. I was both a math student and one of Ms Miller's first freshman cheerleaders the first year she came to Woodson. I remember Trevor as just a little girl at some of our events. Ms Miller not only led me to competence in advanced math but leadership as well. She helped grow and also put up with the lunch time antics of my boyfriend as he and his buddies posted notes in the classroom door window!

Trevor -
My sorrow is balanced by relief that her journey is complete. Your mom lived these last few challenging years with great courage. Free at last.
