On 29 August 2016, Elaine Lefcourt, age 83, of Great Falls, Virginia formerly of Port Washington, New York quietly passed away in her sleep after battling dementia. She was predeceased by her husband Laurence Lefcourt, who she was married to for 48 years. She is survived by her son Lloyd A. Lefcourt and daughter-in-law Michelle Lefcourt of Port Washington, NY, her daughter Lori A. Lefcourt and son-in-law David B. McCue of Vienna, VA, and her four grandchildren Allison, Brandon, Sarah and Gillian. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, graduated from New Eutrecht High School, and completed course work at Queens College. She worked in the beauty industry before devoting years to raising her children and participating in many volunteer activities including Community Synagogue’s Sisterhood, Community Chest, now better known as United Way, and served in many PTA roles. She became a travel agent when her children were in late elementary school and devoted nearly 30 years to planning amazing trips for her clients. Funeral services will be held at Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation, 1441 Wiehle Avenue, Reston,VA, 20190 on Wednesday 31 August 2016 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be at King David Memorial Gardens in Falls Church, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Elaine’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org or to the Make a Wish Foundation at wish.org. Shiva will be observed at Lori and Dave's house on Wednesday evening starting at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Make-A-Wish Foundation (va.wish.org)or to Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
