Please find at least a small bit of comfort when needed in knowing how much Charlie was loved. Including by myself.

Charlie is missed by me and many who worked with him for the many years of volunteer service he provided to help me, good government and his many charities. His tireless and inspirational leadership on political issues, candidate recruitment, issue development and veterans affairs provided a road map for Loudoun County, Virginia and the region all his life.
His many public policy appointments and affirmative support by most elected officials in the county along with his constant Republican Party responsibilities gave thousands of citizens access to government and sound and moral guidance and was a supremely humble comfort to many if not most of us who are elected to serve the citizens of this county and country.
His quiet but always available reserve of national leadership in our federal government would cause any experienced listener pause and the respect of all. He was extremely attentive to family and openly devoted to respect for God and country too. He was the critical ingredient in any successful community enterprise for the short 20 years I knew him and he was an advisor to many others besides me when I served as county supervisor.

Cathy and I send our deepest condolences to Eileen and family on their loss. Charlie was a close friend whose advice, wisdom, fellowship and comradeship I sought and thoroughly enjoyed. We both will miss him, and I more than many because of our close association and labors in the American Legion Post 2001. Charlie loved being a Marine, a Veteran, a member of the American Legion and doing all things associated with Veterans. He was a leader in getting the many things that the Post does to support and aid the Veterans community, especially in Loudoun County. We have all lost a great ally and friend, but know he's joined our numerous Comrades in the Post Everlasting, where he's no doubt helping to get things straightened out and moving on to better ways! Rest in peace, dear friend.
