Obituary of Vaughn Knox Smartt

Vaughn Knox Smartt – Nov. 9, 1957-Sept. 6, 2016 Died at Inova Loudoun Hospital at Lansdowne after a brief struggle w/colon cancer. He was born at Sibley Hospital in Washington, DC. Grew up in Falls Church, Va. Graduated from George Mason Jr.-Sr. High School. Attended Ferrum College in SW Va. Worked in the CIA mail room and delivery headquarters in Langley, Va. He was the son of Foley Vaughn and Lucy Alston Smartt. He is survived by his siblings: George Madison Smartt, Ellen Smartt Bawiec and Lucy Smartt Novak, six nieces and nephews and 3 grand nieces/nephews. He loved going to camp Greenbriar in W.Va. as a child and worked to become an Eagle scout in high school. He enjoyed trips to visit his family in Texas and was loved by all of them. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Adams-Green Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
