Obituary
Obituary of Cynthia Sue Stout
Please share a memory of Cynthia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our fighter, Cynthia “Cindy” Sue (Trimmer) Stout, passed away October 3, 2016, following a long battle with cancer after surviving a hemorrhagic stroke in 2008. In death, she was surrounded by her loving children and her grandchild. As a widow with four young children, Cindy set a lifelong example of perseverance and defying the odds for her kids. Cindy was the ultimate mom, often times “adopting” her children’s friends who affectionately remember her as “Momma Stout.”
The daughter of Kenneth and Regina (Myers) Trimmer, Cindy was born in Flint, Michigan on May 16, 1955. She attended Fenton public schools, graduating from Fenton High School in 1973. She married her love, Terry Lee Stout, in 1977. They were a U.S. Navy family, living throughout the world in places including Hawaii, Indiana, Florida, England, Michigan, Maryland, and Virginia. Cindy also graduated from Strayer University with her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She worked for over 20 years as an Administrative Assistant for the Department of Defense Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren Division.
Her story lives on through her four children and grandchild: Derek, Monica and Nicholas Stout of Michigan, Jessica Stout of New Jersey, Anna and Jay Carelock of Virginia, and Emma Stout of Virginia. She also leaves a brother, Thomas Trimmer, and a sister, Sarah Trimmer-Dolza, both of Michigan, and many aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
