Obituary of Virginia K. Robertson

Virginia Killgore Robertson A native of Jackson, Mississippi residing for the last 22 years with her family in Reston, Virginia died of cardiac failure at the Adler Center for Caring, Aldie VA on 25 November, 2016. Virginia is survived by her son, Volner S. Robertson Jr and his family – wife, Lynda; children; Erin and Ryan. Virginia was a native Mississippian born in Laurel, MS on 22 January, 1919. She spent most of her adult life working and raising a family in Jackson, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Volner S. Robertson Sr. As a strong Presbyterian believer, Virginia worked diligently for many years as the church secretary for Fondern Presbyterian Church in Jackson, MS and also served as a Deacon and an Elder. Additionally, she worked as the church secretary for the First Presbyterian Church in Natchez, MS. Virginia relocated to the Northern Virginia area in November, 1994 to live with her family and help care for her grandkids. She actively supported and attended Trinity Presbyterian Church, Herndon VA until her death. Virginia loved to sew with exceptional skill in making and designing quilts. She loved to cook and was best known for her fantastic “white chili” recipe which the local neighborhood raved about each year when served during the Christmas season. A viewing and service for Virginia will be held at Adams Green Funeral Home, Herndon, VA on Thursday, 1 December, 2016 from 4-6PM. A further viewing will be held at Parkway Funeral Home, Ridgeland, MS on 4 December, 2016 from 3-5PM prior to burial at Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Jackson, MS on 5 December, 2016.
