Just learned about Chuck through yesterday's obituary in the Washington Post.
Very sorry to hear about this.
Chuck and I shared many experiences when we were the first students in SMU's doctoral programme in the 1960's. He was a competitive fellow and we often jousted with each other.
Curiously we did end our careers at the same place - the US Geological Survey's National Centre.
He was a decent fellow and he will be missed.
