Dear Priest Family;
Please accept my sincerest condolences for our loss. While I did not know Mr. Priest personally, I was saddened to hear he had passed. God's Word the Bible tells us that there is going to be a resurrection. At Acts 24:15 the Apostle Paul was inspired to write: "And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous."
It also says at Revelation 21:3.4 "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Please review these scriptures in your personal copy of the Bible and may "Jehovah the God of All Comfort" comfort you during this most difficult time.
Sincerely,
Sister Hughes

I got to know Roger for a few years before I moved down to Central Florida in 2004. I thought that he was indeed a remarkable man with God-given intuition to understand and fix anything. More than anything, I felt that I could truly trust this man.

My condolences to the family and his friends. Roger and I lived across the street from each other on Orange Grove Drive in Houston when we were growing up. We shot hoops on the back yard basketball goals and worked on our cars together. We were on the Aldine High School basketball team that went to the state finals in 1960, and were the 1961 district champs. Roger was a loyal friend and brother in Christ. I am confident his soul rests in peace with our Lord Jesus.

Roger was the best friend someone could have. He was a kind, considerate, respectful, thoughtful, attentive big man! Even when he was in pain, his last words when we met before Christmas were, "Sorry, Mihai, I wasn't a good company today". We shared good times together, and along with Steve, we created the original "Tres Amigos association" which expanded with other like minded friends and, in our weekly meetings at Chilli's, was focused on talking about things made by hands, tools, books we read, politics, history, food, guns, sports, and all other things men enjoy, especially beers and Baffolo wings!!. There was not dull moments together, we all had fun together helped by Roger's great sense of humor.
In many respects we were like brothers and he will be very much missed and fondly remembered.
Rest in peace, my friend!

My friend, Lynn Jordan, recommended Roger to me many years ago as an excellent handyman. She was right; I don't think I'll ever find anyone who will hold a candle to Roger. Besides being a talented handyman, he was a nice person. I will miss him.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Though I have known Roger for over 20 years, we probably got closer during his hospitalization the past year. We talked a lot on hospital visits, trips to his doctors, or home visits. Besides his skills as a craftsman, Roger was well-read, thoughtful, but humble in his own way. He prided himself on his work, but never talked about his courageous stance in the military during the Vietnam war or the difficulty of caring for invalid clients. He missed his family members, but did not want to impose on them, even in his final days. Several times toward the end, he expressed his need for his God's help. We have all, particularly his family, lost a good man.

More than 20 years ago a neighbor said to me 'It must be great to be Roger. He pulls into our parking lot and 3 or 4 women rush out the door to grab him.' Yes, we all had projects that our husbands wouldn't or couldn't fix. Thus when Roger pulled into the parking lot to handle one person's issue, others ran out to grab him. Word of mouth had spread from one side of the cluster to the other that Roger could fix anything. Jim & I learned if you had good beer in the basement frig, you could move up on the non-emergency list! It is always hard to lose a friend, but it is comforting to know he is no longer in pain. Even with the year he had, he never really gave up hope. When I stopped by the house in early November even after talking about the pain, he moved on to plans to get his strength back so in 2017 he would be back to working on a limited basis for smaller projects.

It is painful to watch a love one suffer and die. We naturally grieve such a loss. It is comforting to know that Jehovah understands our grief. More than that, he longs to use his power to restore life to the dead. This comforting thought And hope is recorded at Job 14: 13-15. May the peace of God be with the family.

We register our heart felt condolences to the family of Roger Priest. He was such an affectionate person apart from his skill in getting things right. He would not quit until he is satisfied with the work - even if we say its perfect.. We know him from 1998 when he did the work at my daughter's place even when we were away in columbus, Ohio for her surgery. We lost in him a great friend. We still remember visiting him last summer when we came to US to visit my daughter and sharing Star Bucks coffee at the hospital. May his soul rest in peace -
Bagavathi Nagarajan and Vasantha Nagarajan, India. (Parents of Geetha)

I love you Roger. You are my best friend and mentor. I will surely miss you. I am happy that there is no more suffering and that you will be with God in heaven. You had a lot of practice on Earth being an Angel. I will miss our talks. I will raise a glass of wine in your memory. Vanessa and Ethan are like nieces and nephews to me. I will always be there for them like you were always there for me.
