Obituary of Karen Sue Keller

Karen Sue Hicks Keller Born August 3, 1944 in Roanoke, VA, daughter of W. Ray and Theda Hicks, went to our Lord on January 2, 2017 following a two-year battle with cancer. She taught elementary school and special education in Louisiana, Virginia, Ohio, and Oklahoma. Married Air Force Major James Keller in Dayton, OH in 1979. Retiring from teaching, Sue and her husband then instructed over 1,000 people in eight countries in interpersonal communications for individuals within their church and within Christar, an international evangelical mission agency. She also loved teaching English to speakers of other languages. Sue enjoyed Christian and classical music, hummingbirds, chocolates, and helping people. Surviving her are her husband Jim of Chantilly, and brother Michael Hicks of Roanoke. We will celebrate her life at Chantilly Bible Church on January 6th at 2:00 pm. She will be interred at Evergreen Burial Park, Roanoke, Virginia on January 7th at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial gifts to Adler Center for Caring, 24419 Millstream Drive, Aldie, VA 20105. Or capitalcaring.org/adler-home.
