Obituary of Max Harper Fix

Max Harper Fix, 93, of Sterling, VA. passed away Sunday evening, January 1, 2017, in his home at Sunrise Countryside. Max was born in Kearney, Pa on March 26, 1923. The son of the late John Russell and Edith Mae Anderson Fix of Six Mile Run, Pa. His beloved wife of 57 years, Della Louise Eichelberger Fix, preceded him in death on April 06, 2004. Max was a graduate of Broad Top High School in Defiance, PA. and continued his vocational education at Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, Ill. and Bliss Electric in Silver Spring, Md. A World War II veteran, Max served honorably in the U.S. Navy CB’s, in the European Theater, North Africa and the Pacific Theaters. Following his service Max was employed by International Business Machines (I.B.M.) for 37.5 years as a field engineer. He worked on main frame computers at accounts in the Washington DC area also on Okinawa and later in Germany. In his down time and younger years he enjoyed playing football, playing dulcimer, audio recording, photography, shooting skeet, hunting, and wood working. He also enjoyed gardening and fixing things. Max is survived by his sisters: Mabel Darlene Long, and Dixie Lee Young, his 2 Sons and Daughter in-laws: Barry and Susan Fix of Reston, Va. Brian and Linda Fix of Steinhatchee, FL., 2 Daughters and Son-in-laws: Becky and Jim Jones of Newton, Ia., Barbara and Jim (Greek) Houhoulis of Centreville, Va., 7 Grandchildren: Adam (Ashley)Jones, Trish (Craig) Atkins, Tiffany (Jon) Reed, Lily Vogelson, Robert (Kelly) Lundy, and Brittany and Kristen Houhoulis, 9 Great Grandchildren: Adalynn Jones, Hannah, Devon, Chloe, Emory Grace, and Breon-Leigh Reed, Cole, Brooks, and Drew Atkins, Proceeded in death by: His Parents: John Russell and Edith (Anderson) Fix Brothers: Sherman Howard Fix, Elmer H. Fix, Bill Leroy Fix, Ray Gene Fix, and Orval Allen Fix, Sister: Donna Jane Hale Memorial Services will be held at the Oakton Church of the Brethren in Oakton, Va., 10025 Courthouse Rd, Vienna, VA 22181. on Friday January 06, 2017 at 11:00 A.M .
