I am so sorry for the family's lost of Mr. Walz. I have had the pleasure of knowing his son, Mark, many years ago. He seems he has followed his father's free spirit and hard working ethics. I am sure Mr Walz will be sorely missed by family members, what a dedicated, brilliant man he was. I am sure he is resting in God's world now.

I had the privilege meeting Jerry and his wife last year to Celebrate Easter with family and friends. Such a wonderful and kind man. I was amazed at his collection of books and asked to see the Charles Lindbergh Biography book and both he and Linda gave it to me. Such a great gift!!! Thanks so much for the book. I shall cherish it!!!

I worked for Jerry from 1992-96 in the Contract Law Section. He was a truly decent human being. When I moved on to a better opportunity, my greatest regret was leaving behind the best boss I've had in over 40 years with the federal government.

Jerry was terrific. I enjoyed his positive, friendly energy frequently as I carried my kayak or paddle board to the lake, as he was reading on the porch. I was always a little hesitant about interrupting his involvement in his book, which I then justified by thinking, well, he's outside, I'm walking by, I'm not going to ignore him!
I never got to know Jerry well; we moved into a house near his and Linda's just 3 years ago, but always appreciated his sense of humor and obvious fascination with books. I also appreciated the occasional times when I'd catch Linda outside with him, which expanded conversation further.
My husband was also a big fan of Jerry's for some of the same reason and we both miss him. And his bio adds dimensions to his being vs the casual references he made about his past. And we very happy they created such a loving family, who I've seen visiting regularly since we moved here, from our deck or as I launch one of my boats onto the lake.
Farewell, Jerry! You were a bright point in our our new life in Reston and are missed. And big love to you, Linda.
