Obituary of Efthymios Trihias

Efthymios Trihias, 71, of Sterling, VA passed away on February 5, 2017 at the Inova Loudoun Hospital. He was born on January 2, 1946 in Dermati, Greece to his late father Stavros and his mother Vassiliki. Efthymios, also known as “Mike”, leaves behind two brothers, Pavlos and Kristos, and their wives Koula and Sophia; a sister, Loula and her husband Vangelis; four nephews Stavros, Kostas, Panagiotis and Stavros and one niece, Vaso. He also leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years, Jennifer, and his daughter Alexandra who currently resides in Colorado Springs, CO. Upon coming to the United States, Mike began his restaurant career as a bartender in Georgetown, eventually working his way up to restaurant manager. His strong work ethic kept him in the restaurant business for more than 40 years. Mike had a great love for his job, coworkers and the many friends that he made along the way. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed going to the beach and tending to his garden and fruit trees that he kept in his own back yard. He was notorious for giving away fruits and vegetables to family friends and neighbors whenever he was able. Mike also loved going to church, sharing his time between Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Washington D.C. and Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in Sterling, VA. Mike will be sorely missed by his loved ones, many friends and those who he had impacted throughout his life. In lieu of flowers, we ask that memorial donations be made to the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in Sterling. The family will receive friends at Adams-Green Funeral Home from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 9, 2017.
